Name: Koa Jewellery
About: Founded in 2008 by designer-maker Lawrence Gibson, Koa is an established niche jewellery brand based in South Wales, UK.
Consciously created in a light and modern studio, simplicity is at the heart of their colourful product lines. A fresh and considered approach is not just applied to the designs themselves but can be found right through the entire process, including within the packaging and distribution of the pieces.
With a very strong focus on ethics and sustainability within their handmade production processes. Koa works exclusively with independent retailers that have a similarly strong focus on ethics, independents that work especially hard to find products that are either handmade, slow grown, or of small-batch production and often handmade in the UK.
Within the jewellery-making community, there are many beautiful pieces being created, and often in an ethically minded fashion. But not as many can claim to be a sustainable business. This is because those using silver and gold, for instance, are dealing with materials that are still mined every day, right across the globe. This is purely because there is not enough in circulation. This mining destroys land and habitats and usually involves paying very poor wages to young workers.
Tin, the base metal in almost the entire range of Koa’s handmade pieces, does live up to the claim of sustainability, simply because it no longer needs to be mined. Its abundance within the circulation of disused white goods and redundant electronics means there is enough in existence to supply businesses that need it.
While there is always room for improvement, Koa makes every effort possible to produce beautiful jewellery that does as little harm to people and planet as possible.

Brief: Even though Koa has existed for a number of years, it has only recently evolved into a small brand, and one with the opportunity to show that conscious production can still result in an affordable and desirable range of UK-made fashion accessories.
We would dearly love to increase our brand awareness through a concise and well-written online article. This should fairly review, and hopefully, shine a light on what we do. A link to our website within that article would also be a requirement.
If, as an Influencer, you also have a social media platform that you use to promote your own website and articles, then a link to that article would be fantastic! This, however, is not something we are asking for as an essential requirement.
