About Huw
Huw is a part of The Disasters Emergency Committee, a coalition of 15 of the main international aid charities in the UK (including Oxfam, Save the Children, Red Cross/Crescent, Islamic Relief etc) who come together with main UK broadcasters to drive emergency fundraisers for the world’s biggest humanitarian disasters.
The DEC is currently appealing for donations to support millions of people who are enduring a hellish hunger crisis in a bitterly cold Winter in Afghanistan. This crisis, like more and more now are driven not only by long term conflict but also now by Covid-19 and of course the growing climate crisis.
Huw was a journalist at BBC News for 25 years before joining the DEC so regards himself as a communications expert and would love to work with the network to help build influence for positive humanitarian change, better global citizenship.
