About The Brand

Name: Ecosse Éclat Ethical Jewellery

About us: Hi, I am Isla, designer/maker/jeweller. My little brand Ecosse Éclat Ethical Jewellery has big ideas but I need the help and support of 2 – 3 influencers who I would like to create a lasting relationship with.

The business blurb bit below but if you would like to really get to know my brand I suggest hitting up the stories section of my website where you can read abit about just how personal my little business is too me any why I am so passionate about it.

Nothing is without meaning.

Ecosse Eclat Ethical Jewellery, A small business with a personal touch.

Founded in 2017 by Architect turned Jeweller Isla Wishart who has been hand crafting jewellery for over 20 years.

In 2017 when Isla rebranded her business she relit the fire with a 3 step promise, that the business would always remain ethical and sustainable, that the jewellery would always be UK crafted and that the jewellery she creates would tell a story. She wanted to readdress an imbalance in the jewellery market which had been slow to react to the growing need for an ethical change.

Isla committed to an ethical ethos thought out the business from the materials in the jewellery, to recycling waste in the studio and even how tech is used in the running of the business, Ecosse Eclat does its utmost to protect the world we live in.

In 2018 Isla became a registered Fairtrade Goldsmith and Fairtrade Ambassador offering hand crafted jewellery using Fairtrade gold. Every piece of jewellery from Ecosse Eclat is creating using recycled or Fairtrade metals and ethical stones sourced within the UK.

Isla designs and crafts every single piece of jewellery in her Derbyshire based studio, Isla personally sources the metal and stones used in her designs from trusted UK suppliers ensuring that stones are traceable and ethically soured and that metals meet the UK and her own high standards. In this way Ecosse Éclat can also support other small business’ including small scale casing houses, stone suppliers and lapidary’s.

Never jewellery for jewellery sake all of Isla’s pieces and collections are inspired by the personal and often raw ups and downs of real life, Isla shares the creation stories for her collections on the EEJ Blog – Behind the Bench. The creation story for the jewellery is just its beginning, from her hands to yours where will your next chapter take it?

As featured in Cookson golds designer of the month.
